Younger Belgian generation on the rise

22/05/2021 – After concluding the finals of the NRHA Open European Futurity 2020 for 4-year-old horses (5-year-old by now) scheduled in conjunction with the IRHA Futurity 2020 for 4-year-old horses (5-year-old by now) it has become clear that the younger Belgian generation is on the rise. In the Non Pro Euro division Bo Brutsaert and KB CJ Gun had already claimed 3 titles; in de Open Euro division Gilles Huyghe added a title and reserve title to his record, riding Smart Spooky Joe [Lil Joe Cash] owned by Jean Louis Coutrot. Huyghe performed the pattern pretty well, gathering credit on all the maneuvers. A minor penalty in the spins resulted in the final score 217,5, taking the lead in both L3 and L2. When section 2 started (L4 finalists), his position was in danger with the performance of Christian Baldelli (ITA) and Step In The Night [Saturdaynight Custom] owned by Claudio Rizzola. Baldelli was performing stronger in the spins, but also hit the penalty box harder, resulting in the final score 217,5 as well and the Euro L3 co-Reserve- and L2 co-Champion title for both riders. Baldelli also claimed the IRHA L2 Champion title. Reserve honors in this division were for Late Little Whiz [Walla Walla Whiz] owned by Sara Galimberti and ridden by Sylvia Venezia (ITA) posting a 217,0.
Posting a 223,5, both the Euro L4- and L3 Champion title went to AR Vintage Dream [A Sparkling Vintage] owned by Azienda Agricola Cortesi Piero and ridden by Manuel Cortesi (ITA). Gennaro Lendi (ITA) rode Hollywood Dr [Shiners Voodoo Dr] owned by Davide Rossi to both the Euro L4- en IRHA L4 Reserve Champion title.
The L1 Euro division was decided in a co-Championship between Italian Giulia Mandaletti and Andrea Costa. Mandaletti riding her own Miss Dr Feel Good [Hollywood Gun Dunnit] and Costa riding RR Branding Star [RR Star] owned by Melanie Carter. Both combination posted a 213,5.
Belgian Ann and Bernard Fonck placed 5h, 7th en 8th in the L4 Euro division. With Shines Like Spook [Smart Spook] owned by Rosanne Sternberg Ann posted a 220,5 and with Colonels Whize Gun [Colonels Shining Gun] owned by Hermann Meindert a 219,5. Bernard posted a 219,5 with ND Pop Gun Trash [Gunnatrashya] owned by Nathalie Derua and a 218,0 with Spat Toy Boy Gun [Spat Split And White] owned by CS Ranch.
Petra van Ede (NLD) and her own Gonnashowya [Gunnatrashya] posted a 215,0 placing 8th in de Euro L3- and 6th in Euro L2 division. Another Dutch touch came from Grischa Ludwig (GER). Posting a 220,0 Ludwig rode West Coast Trash [Gunnatrashya] owned by Dutch Margot van Doorne to the 6th place in de Euro L4 Euro division.
