IRHA Maturity Open finalists announced
24/09/2021 – The preliminaries of the € 65.000 added IRHA Open Maturity have been concluded yesterday at Tenuta Elementa in Bracciano (ITA) and the field of finalist is set. Remarkable is the absence of non-Italian riders at this event. Only Italian riders (27 entries), with Belgian Cira Baeck being the only exception, entered the L4 division. Baeck qualified 3 horse for the final, counting 11 entries in total. With the 8-year-old stallion Phantom Face [Pale Face Dunnit] Back took the lead posting a 2210; with the 6-year-old stallion Gunna Be A Big Hit [Gunnatrashya] she posted a 220,5; and with the 6-year-old stallion Nightcrawler [CFR Centenario Wimpy] a 218,0. All horses are owned by Maria Cecilia Fiorucci. In 2020 Cira piloted Phantom Face to the IRHA L4 Open Derby Champion title posting a 228,0. It is expected therefore that she kept something in reserve for the finals.
Dutch Pia Boonstoppel, employed at Elementa, qualified the 6-year-old stallion KN Made My Whiz [Hesa Mega Whiz] owned by Fiorucci as well for both the L2- and L1 finals posting a 213,0. The top in both L3 and L2 is a 219,5 posted by Italian Sebastiano Valtorta and the 8-year- old gelding Four Season Whiz [Topsail Whiz] owned by Luca Mauri; the top score in L1 a 215,5 posted by German Lena -Marie Maas and the 6-year-old mare Gunnersbabe [Gunner] owned by Bartolomeo Rubino.
The Non Pro Maturity finals are scheduled for today, the Open Maturity finals for tomorrow. You can follow the action live free of charge.
