Gold WRC Para Reining for Italy, silver and bronze for Great Britain

08/07/2023  The individual final of the World Para Reining Championship has been concluded yesterday at the CS Ranch in Givrins (SUI) counting 8 entries in total . Marking a 213,5 14-year-old Italian Martina Panizza and her 5-year-old mare Smoking Custom Lena [Pale Face Dunnit] claimed gold. Posting a 209,5 British Wayne Michael Lightbrown and his 12-year-old gelding Legendary Chuca [Custom Legend] claimed silver and posting a 208,5 British Nocola Tustain and the 13-year-old gelding Spook N Sparkle [Smart Spook] owned by Rosanne Sternberg claimed bronze. The British riders earlier already claimed the gold medal in the team competition.
The most fabulous entry was the entry of French Ophelie de Favitski with the 12-year-old mare Splash Me Hickory SFS [Hickory Loves Jess] owned by David Thibault. The French rider is blind and was guided through her pattern by a group of ‘souffleurs’. The video can be watched here.
