Petra van Ede outshines them all
18/09/2021 – Posting a 219,5 Petra van Ede (NED) and the 3-year-old mare Orangeisthenublack [Smart Spook] owned by Gisela Haas claimed both the L4- (15 entries), L3- (20) and L2 (23) Futurity Champion title in the NRHA Belgium Open Futurity for 3-years-old concluded yesterday in Lier (BEL).
Van Ede was the second entry in a field of 34 entries in total. She set the bar high and stayed in the lead until the end of the competition. Van Ede entered 3 horses and with the other 2 mounts she performed well as well. With the stallion ND Dreamgunner [Magnum Chic Dream] owned by Natahlie Derua she marked a 215,0 and with the mare Voodoo Steps [Shines Voodoo Dr] owned by Gisela Haas a 213,5, placing respectively 5th and 7th in L4 and 3rd and 5th in both L3 and L2.
In L4 there was a tie for the Reserve Champion title. Both Bernard Fonck (BEL) with the mare PL Miss Gotta Whiz [Spooks Gotta Whiz] owned by Lenka Luckakova and Arnaud Girinon (FRA) with the stallion Heza Frozen Inferno [Inferno Sixty Six] owned by Società Agricola Le Fattorie Di Matilde marked a 218,0. Reserve honors in both L3 and L2 were for Kim Obenhaus (GER) and the stallion Voodoos Enterprise [Shiners Voodoo Dr] owned by van Gradus Berg marking a 215,5.
In L1 (14 entries) Jeremy Ropert (FRA) and the mare Jag Spatigun [Colonels Shining Gun] owned by Aude Gruber claimed the title marking an 215,0. Reserve honors were for Andrea Costa (ITA) and the gelding My Guns Melody [Tinker With Guns] owned by Joseph Pfaff marking a 210,0 and 3 place for Thimotée Pley (FRA) and the mare Steppin On Smart VVS [Steppin On Sparks Nic] owned by Nathalie Gillet marking a 207,0.
The Open Futurity for 3- and 4-years-old is scheduled for today.
