Practicing for NRHA Futurity
25/10/2023 – Many riders have a dream about entering the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City. For the majority of riders it will always be a dream, but a few of them succeed in living their dream though. Past weekend the Hardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore (USA) was the venue for the $ 138.000 added South West Reining Horse Open- and en $ 63,000 added Non Pro Futurity. A pleasant surprise was the participation of Dutch Open rider and trainer Anne Grether, owner of RX Quarter Horses located in Vorstenbosch (NED). Anne entered the 3-year-old gelding Dejavu All Overagain, aka Pablo, a son from Smart Spook out of Dun Its Deja Vu from Hollywood Dun It, purchased in April from XCS Ranch and since then under the guidance of Cira Baeck (BEL) who settled in the USA months ago. This was the second time Pablo was shown and the very first time with Anne at the reins. Anne did fine. In the $ 40.000 added L3 Intermediate Open division (72 entries) the pair placed 31st; in de $ 15.000 added L2 Limited Open division (92) 25th; and in the $ 10.000 added L1 Open division (55) 9th. The first steps on the road to the NRHA Futurity, scheduled for November 21 up to and including December 2 in Oklahoma City have been taken. Pretty ‘cool’.
